I'd also look at staying in wolfville halls harbour, blomidon, wineries, Evangeline beach, restaurants, music, artisanal food such as fox hill cheese and tangled garden and farm markets and lunenburg bluenose ship, waterfront, restaurants and pubs, the ovens sea caves, rissers beach. All are gay friendly, no worries. With only five days balancing your time between Halifax , lunenburg and wolfville areas would give you three different communities without having to travel lots.
Or add in Annapolis royal instead of wolfville or lunenburg.
