Pastured Pork
Our natural pastured pork comes from our Berkshire cross pigs, which are bred, born and raised on our farm and processed at a local government inspected facility. Our pigs are raised naturally which means that are free of any antibiotics, synthetic growth hormones and animal by-products and they only receive feed which is free of pesticides, chemical fertilizers and GMO’s.
During the summer our feeder pigs are housed in portable pens on our mixed grass/legume pastures. The pigs are moved to fresh pasture where they are able to forage for the roots of plants and they receive a mix of grain and legumes, usually barley and peas, milled on our farm. During the winter the pigs are given access to outside with plenty of straw and hay to bed and root through with the same grain mix.
